April is always a fun month for me. It’s my birthday, and while I’m not a big fanfare kind of girl (just order me pizza and let me sleep - that’s the world’s best gift), I do appreciate the abundance of birthday freebies and coupons that stores are willing to send me each year. And Lord, do I use them. This week, I’ve rounded up my favorite birthday freebies and coupons so that you can sign up now and go celebrate when your month comes around.
If you sign up for Starbucks Rewards, you’ll get a free birthday treat every year, and the sky’s the limit. My go-to? A venti chai tea latte. They always try to get me to make it more extravagant by sizing up and adding espresso shots, but I need more caffeine like I need a hole in the head.
With OC Rewards, you get a free pizza each year. A PIZZA. I’ve gone every year since joining because for real - who turns down free pizza post-college?
I have a tradition where I go to Sephora each year on my birthday and blow a bunch of money on things I don’t need. In the words of Tom Haverford, “Treat yoself”. If you’re a Beauty Insider, you’ll get a fun birthday freebie. This year, I received a GlamGlow gift set. I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ll keep you in the loop!
Just for existing and being a rewards member, you get $5 for your birthday month. I happened to have a $20 off coupon to add on top of this, so on top of getting a discount on my wedding shoes (eek), I bought these beauts and basically got them for free! They also threw in a free umbrella for some reason. Still working through that one, but I think it’s unrelated to birthdays.
Didn’t get enough caffeine from your morning Starbucks run? Get a free beverage at Dunkin’ Donuts, too! You can sign up for their rewards program here.
Blatt is my favorite restaurant of all time. Ever. It’s so good, and I will never be mad if you want to go there. They also offer a birthday freebie. If you’re in or around the Omaha area, be sure to sign up next time you’re in the restaurant. I just received a $10 off coupon, which I WILL be using.
I love Vera Bradley. The company was started by a Kappa Delta (AOT), and no one makes a cuter duffle bag or lunch bag (seriously - LOOK at this one). Frankly, I don’t remember ever starting an account with them, but I must have because I received a 25% off coupon and an offer for a free gift in-store. I don’t know what that gift is, so I can’t tell you much about it, but next time I head to the outlets, I will be finding out!
Okay, hang with me because this is a weird one. Today, I received a coupon for free prescription sunglasses lenses with the purchase of the frames. I’ve actually been really wanting prescription sunglasses and have never made the plunge. Maybe this is a big enough incentive to do so.
There you have it.
Don’t say I never gave you anything for your birthday. I call this an affordable style blog, and I like to think I’ve exceeded expectations on that front today by providing some free choices (ha).
What rewards did I miss out on this year? Let me know in the comments so that I can work on getting signed up in the next 11 months!
Until next time.
As always, thanks to Josh for the photos. :)
